Disneyland (part II)

So the next day, we decided to go to a place where I don't have to go on rides to have fun. So, we went to the Sea World! We got lost on the way there, and because our GPS device stopped working on our drive from Vancouver to Seattle, we decided to leave it behind. Good thing mommy printed out the directions from MapQuest! Sea World have rides now -- roller coaster type rides! I guess they want to make it into an actual theme park. Unfortunately, I couldn't go on it. By the way, Shamu is still alive! It's been so many years since I've last been to Sea World, and it's Shamu! It's Shamu!

The day after that, we went to the San Diego Zoo. I'm somewhat against having animals locked up like this, but I couldn't help but kept thinking how educational a zoo could be on top of it all. They had some endangered animals, and I guess without the zoo, they probably wouldn't be around anymore. The shows were interesting. The sea lion and sea otter show wasn't as entertaining as those at Sea World, but still pretty awesome nonetheless. Something I learned from the zoo was that white wolves are actually really shy towards people (or at least that's what the zoo people said). Though, would I have the courage to pet one? Maybe. Maybe not. However, I think after I returned back to Vancouver, those stereotypes about white wolves came back again. I guess it just makes movies more entertaining that way.

The next day was Universal Studios! I felt a lot better that day and was able to go on rides again. Universal Studios felt alot smaller to me for some reason. Or maybe it was because the one that I remembered was in Florida and not LA. They no longer have the Back to the Future ride. Instead, they replaced it with The Simpson's ride. It's not too bad, but Back to the Future was a classic! I was still too scared to go on the Jurrasic Park Ride, so I skipped out on that while my mom and my brother went on that.

On our very last day there, we spent it at both California Adventure AND Disneyland! Since it was our last day, we decided to make the most of it! We went on the California Screamin' Roller Coaster TWICE! It was soooo scary, but soooo much fun at the same time. It kinda made me wonder why human beings enjoy being scared. We were smart this time and brought our own lunch that we bought from 7-Eleven. The food inside the theme parks are crazy expensive! After that, we went over to Disneyland and rode on all the rides there (well, almost)! We even went on some of the really kiddie ones. They had a "mini" (A Bug's Life) theme park inside Disneyland, and all the rides were really meant for little kids, but since we had no idea, we decided to try one of them. After the ride, we were like "what the...". It was... interesting. Anyway, after watching all the fireworks and stuff, we decided to go on Space Mountain, our last ride of the trip. While lining up, I was shaking because I was so nervous. My mom kept asking me, "what are you so scared about? You were fine when you went on California Screamin'... TWICE!" As a side note, I was not fine. I get extremely nervous when it comes to roller coaster rides. I enjoy them, but I get scared.

We were supposed to leave the day after that at night time. So we spent the day shopping at Disney Downtown, and my mom was able to do some last minute indulgences before we said bye to LA.

So that's pretty much it for my Disneyland trip. I hope you all enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed being through it (minus all the illness)!

Disneyland (part I)

So I went to Disneyland this December and came back not too long ago. It was Christmas season, so everything at Disneyland was decorated to fit the season. Christmas is my favorite season, and to be able to spend it at Disneyland was absolutely wonderful!

On the first day there, it was pouring rain with extremely strong winds. After checking into the hotel, it was already the afternoon. So we went to Disney Downtown and checked out their stores. Since it was raining so hard, we bought 2 umbrellas. That was our first purchase. We checked out the stores at Disney Downtown in the afternoon and the malls around the areas later on in the evening. Afterwards, we went to go pick up our City passes from Disneyland. The city pass provides us with 1 Seaworld, 1 San Diego Zoo and 1 Universal Studios and 3 Disneyland tickets.

So we headed off to Disneyland the second day we were there. The day before, I saw this girl with a Minnie Mouse Santa hat, when I asked her where she got it, she said that she got it inside the park. I couldn't wait and the first thing we did when we got inside the park was go into one of the stores on Main Street to buy Santa hats. I ended up buying one for myself and a Mickey one for Hanson. Jeffrey got a Goofy Santa hat since he already has a Mickey one and Mommy also got a Minnie Mouse Santa hat. Afterwards, We went to play on the typical rides. Thank god it was all sunny that day. It got colder in the evening, but still bearable -- unlike Vancouver. Disneyland was honestly the happiest place on earth.

That night (or I guess you'd consider it the next morning), I woke up at 4:30am and threw up in the washroom -- twice! I didn't get much sleep after that and was so tired the next morning. Before we even went out the door, I had to go the bathroom twice (details not included). We headed off to California Adventure that day. At the park, I couldn't stop gagging. I felt my stomach just twisting and turning inside of me non-stop. We went on the Toy Story ride, and afterwards I had to go to the bathroom again and I started gagging. My mom came with me and a lady inside the bathroom asked my mom, "what ride did she just go on?" -- I thought that was quite funny when she told me afterwards. I couldn't last anymore and had to go back to the hotel room to rest. The walk back to the hotel was supposed to be around 15 minutes, but it felt more like it was 45 minutes. I spent the rest of the day in the hotel room - what a waste!

... To be continued!

And you wonder why I am deaf?

My parents just left on an airplane to Hong Kong about 24 Hours ago. I got in trouble already. Cow Cow (Uncle; my mom's brother) came over, and for your information, he's always talking really loud. I have already turned down the volume of the TV compared the how Gong Gong (Grandpa) used to have it and he was still talking really really loud. My ears started to hurt he was being so loud and Rosie just kept on barking.

So, I told him to not be so loud. Then, it's almost like he went crazy and started barking at me (not literally, but still). I was sitting down and he was hovering over me yelling at me and drooling all over me as he was yelling at me. It was very gross / "wut dut". Cow Mo (Aunt; Uncle's wife) was trying to stop him from yelling and was standing in between us. But even Cow Mo can't stop him. He kept on saying "Who the f*ck do you think you are?? Telling me to quiet down?! I've held it in yesterday when you told me to quiet down I'm not gonna hold it in today" and "You shut up now or I'm going to smack you in the face". Then I turned to him and opened my mouth, I was trying to say "I was just trying to tell you to not be so loud because my ears hurt" and then before I could even say any word he points his stupid finger in my face and said "Don't let me hear another word from your mouth".

It's more like "who does he think he is?" He has no right to yell at me. If he wants to yell at a kid he should make his own and yell at them. If I wasn't well-mannered enough, I would have told him to shut up and not "Cow Cow, can you not be so loud?" The way that he yelled at me freaked out Jeffrey and Poh Poh (Grandma). I'm just afraid that Poh Poh might get a heart attack from Cow Cow's sudden loud voice. It doesn't matter what he's doing, it's always loud. Loud laughs. Loud talks. Loud yells. Loud everything.

So in the end, I went back into my room and cried (by the way, I've moved in with my grandma now). He has no right to yell at me. What the hell has he done for this family? All he knows how to do is put responsibility on other people. Like telling me "Remind Poh Poh to take her meds". He did not shed one tear at Gong Gong's funeral. In fact, he was still making STUPID jokes on Gong Gong's death day. He almost wore a sweatshirt and sweat pants to the funeral itself if my mom didn't call him and talk to him about it. It's like... have you no respect for your father??

Not just that, Sunday afternoon he called and said that he was coming over for lunch WHILE we were ALREADY eating lunch. So Poh Poh had to turn on the stove and cook all over for him again. And you know what he does when he came over? He doesn't even bother helping in the kitchen. Instead, he stands in the middle of the living room and starts doing his tai chi moves, expecting his mother to do everything. Poh Poh is not young anymore. Can someone please tell Cow Cow that now that Gong Gong is gone? I hate him.

I don't care, I demand an apology!!! It hasn't even been a day yet since my parents are gone and this is what happens. I hope he pops a blood vessel and die!

Keep in mind, people, his name is "Steven Ng" and he works at the UBC Bookstore. BEWARE!

R.I.P. Goong Goong

On November 8th, 2008: James Ng, a beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away.
I miss you Goong Goong...

The one who always takes me to and from school since elementary school to high school; the one who cooks the best shrimp in the house; the one who is able to make friends wherever he goes, the one who raised me up.

Song, dedicated to my grandfather:
Raise Me Up - Josh Groban

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up... To more than I can be.

Not Weird, Just Cold

So school has started if you haven't looked at your calendar in months. Actually, school's been going on for a week already. So if you're a student and you didn't know school started, you're kinda screwed. I already have my first assignment due today.

So many people on campus are still wearing their tank tops, tube tops, shorts, mini skirts, etc.
And there you see me... in my ski jacket.
I'm sexy and I know it - I don't need to show it.

No Burberry

Ok, well I ended up not getting my Burberry purse Sad. A couple weeks afer the auction has ended, the lady who was going to sell us the purse emailed us and told us that there was some problem with the shipping and that the item is no longer available. What a bunch of bull. Honestly, I think she just sold it to someone else under the table for a higher price. Bastard...

Anyway, maybe it's fate that Burberry and I won't end up together. So, I decided to buy myself a Coach purse. At first, I wanted to buy the exact same one as the one I bought for my mom. Which is pretty stupid now that I think of it. Why would you want two identical bags in the house when you can just trade to use it every once in a while? But I realized that it didn't really look that great on me for some reason and I can't find a purse that I like except for the Coach Madeline, which SOMEWHAT resembles my mom's purse.

When we went down to Seattle Premium Outlets for the last time before my summer ended, I realized that I am still so much in love with the Coach Madeline. Lucky for me, it was on sale too! So I got it! Now I have a Black Signature Coach Madeline Smile.

Little things that make me happy

I hate spending money. I don't even go out to eat lunch because I don't want to spend money. However, this month, I spent a lot of money. And I mean a LOT. I bought this Burberry purse that I've always wanted and I felt guilty for spending so much money. So, I bought my mom a Coach purse too. Sounds kind of crazy huh? You must be thinking "why the hell is she spending even more money when she already feels guilty for buying something so expensive!?"

Well let me tell you. According to new psychology research, spending money on someone else actually makes you more happy than spending money on yourself. I'm not sure how it works, but I do kinda feel somewhat more happy. I just bought my mom her very first brand name purse! She's happy and seeing her happy makes me happy too!

My Kind of Psycho

The title of this post is a joke. Please don't take me seriously - I don't like psychos. Hahaha!

This morning on the radio, Nat and Drew talked about this man named Dmitri. He approached a woman on the streets of Toronto and complimented on how good-looking she was and asked her for her phone number. She did the typical thing and just gave him her business card and was probably having second thoughts because she didn't return any of his (creepy) phone messages.

You'll know what I mean when you listen to the phone messages: Click here to listen.

MacBook Beginner Days

It's the last day of the month, and this is only my first post for the month! I've been feeling really lazy lately and don't feel like posting - actually, it's more like I didn't feel like doing anything.

I got my MacBook over the weekend and I have spent lots of time trying to figure out how to use it. I didn't even read my psychology textbook. I only have my weekends free so that I can read my psychology textbook and I didn't even do that! I'm going to fall so far behind that I'll be cramming for the final exam too.

My experience with my MacBook so far hasn't been great. MSN Messenger has always been one of the essential tools for me and please don't mind my language.... but MSN Messenger on the Mac OSX SUCKS! I know this is not Apple's problem, infact, I'm kinda mad at Microsoft for this. The MacBook comes with a web camera built in named "iSight" and I can't even use it when I use it with MSN Messenger. They've already come out with their 7th version. Like c'mon man... do you realize you're making no progress at all?? I found some OpenSource projects that support MSN messaging and webcam on Mac such as aMSN and Mercury. Can you believe it? And these people who make these OpenSource applications don't even get paid!

Well anyway, I've been scrambling to find the best solution to this lack of audio/video problem because even aMSN and Mercury kinda lags. I sort of found the solution to this lack of audio/video problem. I found this website called www.MeBeam.com. It's absolutely fantastic! One thing about it is that it's actually video streaming, so while you're using MeBeam to conference with your friends, anyone can actually access it as long as they get the correct URL. So when you create your conference room, try to come up with a unique name. It's easy to figure out how many people are watching you though. Typically, if there is one person watching you, you have two boxes that appear. One for your own webcam, and the other one for your friend's. The box will show up even if you're friend doesn't have a webcam. If a third box shows up, that means you have two friends watching you, etc. The video is very smooth (no lagging) and doesn't even slow down your computer. I definitely recommend it!

Cruise over Victoria Day Long Weekend

Wow, it's been more than a month since my last post. May is almost over and I thought maybe I should put something on this month before it becomes a blank archive on the side bar.
I didn't bother writing a Miss or Diss this semester since 2 of the 4 professors I had repeated. I also had one of my exams deferred (for personal reasons that I do not want to discuss on here), and I didn't write it until last week. So it would be a bit too early to "Miss or Diss" the prof. Besides, he's moving onto working in an actual company instead of continuing to teach at UBC.
Speaking of last week, I went on a cruise (Island Princess) with my family and my parent's high school friends and their families. Most of their kids were boys, and they were my brother's age, so they got along pretty well. Unfortunate for me though, I was alone for the most part and stuck around my parents while they shopped on the cruise. On the last night there, we had a comedian hypnotist as one of the shows. My brother and I and a couple of the other guys went up on stage to be volunteers as hypnosis subjects. However, I got sent off the stage because I couldn't be hypnotized. Jeffrey and another boy named Calvin stayed up on stage the whole time though. Apparently, they were acting throughout the whole thing.
Oh well, that's ok I guess. It was an entertaining show, and Jeffrey was very funny. I'm just glad that out of the party of 40 people, at least 2 of them made it up on stage and stayed throughout the whole show. I had a lot of fun... Smile!

Snowy's Pictures

When we first got Snowy, digital cameras didn't even exist back then and her pictures are all on film. I can't even find them at the moment. I regret not taking any more pictures of Snowy when she grew up a bit more. But lately, I've realized that I looked realy hard on the internet for pictures of bunnies that looked like Snowy. I guess these will have to do for now. (Disclosure: These were pictures found on Google images, not pictures I took of Snowy. We never had a cat.)

She likes to chew on the plastic bag material that's layered at the bottom of her cage (they make the cage easier to clean), so we surround her cage with pieces of cardboard so it keeps her away from it. And she would never pee or poo when she was let out of her cage. She was never trained or anything, she just knew. She was a really good bunny and she'll always be in my heart.

Is it you, Snowy...?

When I walked out earlier to head to my classroom, I felt something cold drop onto my nose. I looked up into the sky and it was snowing. Today is March 28th. Spring should already be here, yet, snow is still falling from the sky.

Could it be you, Snowy? Are you trying to tell me something? Are you happy up in heaven? Will you come back to me any time soon?

I stood outside for a moment and took deep breaths; taking it all in before I started walking to my classroom. On my way to class, I started wondering to myself. What could Snowy be doing right now? Is she hopping around in the clouds with all of the other bunnies in heaven? Is she digging holes in the clouds to look down at me?

I miss you, Snowy... And if you are looking down at me, did you would have noticed that there hasn't been a day I didn't cry since you left me? I asked you to give me a sign if you are actually still here with me. Is this it? Is this the sign?

Snowy - My Favorite Easter Bunny

Today is Easter Monday. A time known with its mascots of Easter Eggs and Bunnies. But today... my family member of 12 years has passed away. Her name is Snowy and she's a bunny. She's beautiful, with a full white body, brown ears, nose, tail feet and sparkling red eyes. I've had her since I was in elementary school. She's probably bitten every one of my family members, including my dad who barely touches her. Yet, she's never bitten me before. She and I have this little bond.

She started developing symptom's of a head tilt on Friday, and by Saturday, she couldn't even stand up anymore. I held her for most of Sunday, hoping that she could feel my love and care for her so that she would have the urge to live on. She doesn't like to be picked up often, but she didn't mind it this time. She looked like she was suffering, I can tell, but she made the effort to lick my hand, I wasn't sure if this was her way of saying good bye, but it made me cry unstoppable. I know she was suffering, but I didn't want to put her to sleep.

She was twitching a bit on Sunday night, by Monday morning, she was twitching a bit more frequently. I was afraid this is it. We brought her to the vet quickly and according to her, she's having mini seizures. She advises us that if we're going to put her to sleep, we'll have to do it soon because she could possibly get worse tonight. I watched as she licked my hand, telling me that she'll never forget our good times together. I couldn't possibly watch the vet put my pet into forever sleep, so I went outside. After it was done, I went back in. There she was... lying there peacefully. "She's gone now," my mom told me. I can't believe that it's happened, but at least I know she's not suffering anymore. I don't think I will ever be able to think of Easter the same way again...

I love you, Snowy. You will always be remembered. On March 24 and on Easter Monday. And I hope you remember me too... I love you.

My friend.
My family.
My favorite Easter Bunny.

I Love You, Nokia N95!!

So last month, I got a new cell phone! I've been looking into getting a new cell phone since last summer and I finally got one. Mobile Phone

I probably didn't tell anyone, but last October or so I purchased an LG chocolate on eBay and got ripped off for it. The guy who sold it to me advertised it as new. When I recieved the product it had scratches all over it and cell phone numbers already stored in there. My mom was really surprised since the guy who sold it to us had over 800 100%-feebacks. Also, after trying it out for a couple of days, I found that there are many limitations (e.g. I couldn't change the ringtones for alarm and SMS and these are features that are very important to me). So, my mom contacted him and he agreed to give us a refund. I got dinged a bit by the exchange rate at the time since the Canadian dollar was rising up so quickly and the phone was bought in US dollar. Money

Anyway, you thought that would have scared me off from buying on eBay again right? Well, I guess it did for a bit. About a month ago, I bought another cell phone on eBay - the Nokia N95! This one's a keeper! I absolutely love this phone! I was considering the iPhone for a while, but then I eventually said no, because it was so bulky. Some people think that the N95 is even bulkier, but hey - it's a sliding phone AND it's stylish. It might be thicker, but the iPhone is bigger in width and length. Overall, I believe that there are lots of features on the N95 that can kick iPhone's ass (I think this line will one day cost me a job at Apple).

  • First of all, it has a 5 megapixel camera. It's as good as any camera that's being released these days! The unfortunate part about it is that it doesn't have an optical zoom. However, even when I take a picture using the zoom, it's still quite clear (obviously, depending on how close you zoom). The iPhone only has a 2MP camera! It can also take video too. I think the iPhone does not have that feature quite yet, but I think once the firmware has been updated, it should be able to as well. Camera
  • It has Wi-Fi. Ok, fine the iPhone has Wi-Fi too. And well, it's just as good, I guess. The keyboard on the N95 uses the number pad to type in letters, so I guess it's a bit more difficult. However, the iPhone is not that much better since I seem to always be hitting the key beside the letter I acually want when I type on the QWERTY keyboard. The predictive text on both phones are very helpful. Computer
  • It has GPS! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the iPhone has GPS. It does have Google Maps, but so can the N95! You just have to go install it from Google.com, and it's as easy as clicking a button (literally)! Island with a palm tree
  • Other cool features includes radio! I've noticed that since I started working last year, I have been listening more to the radio than to MP3. The radio feature really does come in handy (for me anyways).Note

All these features combined together was enough to win me over when I am torn between buying the iPhone or the Nokia N95. For Nokia N95 prospective buyers who are planning on buying it from eBay, be VERY careful! There are a lot of fakes out there. Make sure that they state that the phone is MADE IN FINLAND, and that it includes WIFI as well as GPS. Honest sellers will tell you that they do/n't make sure you read the descriptions really carefully. Also, it's automatically a fake when they say that it has a touchscreen because Nokia N95 DOES NOT have a touchscreen feature.

This is all information that has been researched by me - aren't you proud that I know so much about cell phones now? Open-mouthed Nokia should hire me after this great review of their phone. Tongue out

Heart-Winning Crepes

It's the holiday that many hate but love to talk about. Love is full of contradictions and the hype surrounding the calendar date set aside for it is no exception.

Depending on what you'd like to use the crepes for (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert - we're all adults here, these things happen at all times of the day), be classy and prepare some toppings that you can roll them up with. Bananas with sugar and cinnamon. Peaches and ice cream. Spinach and feta. Sauteed mushrooms and bell peppers. regardless, it will be charming, attractive, unique - everything you want to be, in edible form.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1.5 cups of milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • Water
  • String love, moderate "like" or vapid hope (optional)

Get out two separate bowls, mixing the dry in one and the wet in the other. Slowly incorporate the dry with the wet. Whisk carefully, adding touches of water until it pours out like a thin cream. Melt a little butter on a non-stick pan over medium heat, thinly coat the pan with batter, and cook gently for 1 or 2 minutes. Don't flip! Serve immediately, sprinkled with lemon juice and sugar, or with your toppings rolled inside. The rest is up to you!

Happy Valentine's Day, Everyone Red heart

Gong Hay Fat Choy 2008!

Happy Chinese New Year!

I guess Chinese people don't really have a count down to their own New Year's. Maybe that's because lots of Chinese people are like Hanson and they sleep at 10:00 and never see the clock strike 12:00. But anyway! Happy Year of the Rat!

I wore red underwear today - Hahaha! It says Monday/Lundi on it... Confused (TOO MUCH INFO)!!

BOOt Camp 2008

Oh my gosh! I had the most awesome weekend ever! I came back from camping on Sunday afternoon, but I was just too exhausted to write a blog post. But that's OK, because it was all worth it! Over the weekend, I went camping at Evan's Lake with the UBC Orientations team. For those of you who don't know it, I am a Squad Leader for the upcoming Imagine UBC Orientation! WOOT! Party

So it was a very bumpy ride on the way there - I almost got sick. 2 hours later, we arrived at a foot of a mountain. The road was all iced up and it was too dangerous for our school bus to go up (yes, we were on a school bus), so we had to hike up the steep hill. Good thing the luggage was taken up by this truck.

Once we got up there and put our luggage in our cabins, our first "Cabin Challenge" was to come up with a cabin cheer! And then after the cabin cheer, there was a skit! I thought I was going to dread the skit because I don't like doing them, but it went a lot better than I thought it would! Smile

Between the cabin challenges, we had workshops on how to be good leader. I must say... it was very inspiring and makes me extremely excited for Imagine Day! There was barely any free time for homework, so I must do some catching up this week. Other cabin challenges included:

  • Paper Doll: Create a paper doll that represents UBC Orientation Leaders.
  • Best Dressed: Dress up as your famous duo. Some of the costumes were pretty good I must say. Mine was very difficult. Janine and I were supposed to be Baskin Robbins but I think we did a pretty good job for such a difficult one.
  • Pudding Drop: Someone lying down, another one standing on a bench above them blindfolded. The person lying down has to instruct the blindfolded person to go left/right, up/down and then drop it into their mouths. The game gets bit messy, but it was so fun to watch!
  • Carrot Dips: A carrot is tied to a string, and you have to hang the carrot between your legs. Then, you dip it into a cup of salad dressing that was only about 2 cm filled and then you feed it to someone lying down on their back.
  • Push Ball: Put two oranges into a pair of stockings and tie it together on a piece of string and tie the string on your waist. Then, try to push a beach ball with the two oranges by swaying your waist back and forth. It's a natural motion for boys as Robyn says. Tongue out

You know how back in high school, popular people are usually very snobby and stuff...? At BOO Camp, although you can tell that some people are more popular than others, the line that draws people apart from each other doesn't exist. Everyone is so friendly that it almost seems unreal to me. I made a lot of friends. BoyGirl

On the way back home, we had to walk down the mountain. Ariel and I walked down together. At the beginning of the walk, we were at the front of the pack, not too much later, we were at the back of the pack. We were just there supporting each other in case we slipped (which Ariel did a lot - hehe). Thanks Alex, I'm so glad you made me do this. Open-mouthed

End Animal Cruelty

We asked for a happy new year and this is what we get?

Most people have yet to hear of the news that there was a 28-year-old man in Vancouver that pleaded guilty of beating a 15-week-old puppy to death with a hammer. There are many other stories of animal cruelty across Canada in general.

Marcy Moriarty, the General Manager of Cruelty Investigations for the BC SPCA, and she says the laws for people who abuse animals are not tough enough - not by a long shot. In fact, very few people ever serve jail time and often get slapped with a fine of a few hundred dollars. There was even one case where two guys tied a stray dog to a tree and beat it to death with a baseball bat, but because the dog died quickly it was not considered animal cruelty.

This is absolutely disgusting! If you feel the same way, please click on the link below and sign the petition telling the government you want to see tougher laws for people who abuse animals. It will only take a moment of your time, and could make a very important difference.

End Animal Cruelty
