Mean Old Bus Driver Goes Round and Round....

I've taken the bus to and back from school for a couple of times ever since school started. I kinda feel proud of it actually. However, I do get lost from time to time and I rely on other people to pull that buzzer thingy most of the time so I can get off the bus for transferring.

Anyway, last month when I had to take the bus home, I saw a 604 coming my way that said English Bluff. When I asked the bus driver just to make sure if they pass by Ladner he told me he didn't know in a way that makes me seem like I'm annoying him. He probably had a bad day or something so whatever. I got on the bus anyway since my mom told me to take whatever bus that started with 60*. But I kept thinking to myself, how can he not know where he's going? Does he even remember where he lives??

Ok, fine. I needed to take the bus again yesterday because I got off school at 5:30 and my parents have already left. I bumped into the SAME bus driver and he closed the door while I was on the stairs and hit me on my shoulder really hard. Not only that, he didn't even apologize! The only thing he said was "OOPS!! Watch your back!!". I seriously wanted to yell at him, but since there were so many people in the bus (and some were sleeping) I didn't want to make a scene (and wake some of the people up). My shoulder is now bruised. I thought that he didn't deserve a "Thank you" so I left the bus without saying anything.

When I told my mom what happened, she said that the bus drivers use to be so nice. They'd remember where you need to stop and stop there for you. That bus driver that brought me back home was probably new - that's why.

Imaginary Bird-Poo Flashback

Nothing special or memorable happened to me for this past week, so I decided to do this blog entry based on something that happened around a year ago. I remembered this as I was walking back to Brock Hall from my Computer Science class. I was walking beside this building and suddenly bird crap dropped right in front of me (I felt so lucky I didn't get hit). It was still fresh, kinda bubbly too. This reminded me of something....

Outside Richmond Center one summer morning, my grandpa came to pick me up after my interview with Sport Chek my grandma and my brother tagged along since we were planning to go to lunch right afterwards. As we were walking towards the car, Jeffrey (my brother), said that he felt something drop on his head. I told him to turn around so I can see and tell him what it was. I saw nothing, but I decided to trick him and told him that there was a big blotch of bird-poo on his head so he would freak out (I know, I'm mean).

When we were in the car, I kept on making jokes like "Oh Jeffrey, don't tilt your head, it's starting to drip!" (What can you say? He believed me.) My grandma almost blew it because she didn't know why I said that there was crap on his head but luckily I got her to play along. In the car, Jeffrey insisted on going back home without lunch just so he could clean up. It was rare, because Jeffrey is usually a very dirty boy.

When we got home, he got into the shower as fast as he could. However, I bet you anything that before he turned on the water he was still trying to check out the bird-poo on his head in front of the mirror. When he came out of the shower, I finally told him that I was only joking and that there was no bird-poo, but he kept saying that he felt something weird on his head when he was washing his hair. Maybe he had a bumpy skull, but I think that was the cleanest day of his life.

Anyway, I hoped you guys enjoyed the story. Although, I don't think Jeffrey would appreciate it as much. Oh well *shrug*.

EA, Here I Come!!

It was raining pretty hard today by the end of the day, but that is not what I'm here to talk to you about. I recieved a notice a couple of days ago that there was a presentation going on at EA's Burnaby Studio. I decided to sign up for it since it was sort of my goal to work at EA Games. At first, I went to the bus loop because I thought that's where they said that their limo bus was going to be, but it turned out to be the shuttle loop near Brock Hall. If I knew, I wouldn't have needed to walk to so far.

At EA Studio, they just talked a lot about the hiring process and how to apply through Co-op. Afterwards, this girl gave us a tour of the studio. The studio was *SO* nice. They had a store downstairs that sells the games that EA make. After that, she took us on a tour of the second and third floor of the studio which was responsible for making NBA and FIFA. I think my favorite was the NBA one. They had all these posters and framed CD games hung on the wall, it was really cool.

Unfortunately, the games from EA that I'm interested in are the driving games while the studio in Burnaby was only responsible for some of the sports games. The driving games are made in the studio downtown. It's still local, so I'm good.

Some people ask me, "Why EA Games?" Well, I just think that it would be much more cool than to work at this telecommunications company or whatever that nobody knows of. You see, when I tell this people that I work at EA Games, they'll know where and what it is and also think it's really cool! Therefore, I can be doing stuff that I like, AND I can get recognition for my work.

You're dating WHO?!

Surprisingly, that was NOT my reaction when one of my good friends (Melissa) revealed to me last night that she just started dating my ex-boyfriend (Who-we-will-never-mention) a couple days ago. I had no reaction to it other than being happy for her. I am in a happy relationship myself, and I can only wish the same for my friends. She said that she's built up the courage over two days to ask for my approval, which was really sweet of her actually.

Last night when she started telling me this little news, she got me so nervous. She said something like "Juli... There's something that's eating me alive inside and I just have to tell you... and I think you'll hate me afterwards... blah blah blah..." and then she trails off without saying anything for a couple of minutes. I kinda figured that it was about Who-we-will-never-mention, but I just thought that he died or something. Okay, so if anyone else have anything you THINK is big and surprising, just spit it out.

However, just because I let those two be, does not mean that I have forgiven Who-we-will-never-mention and everything that he's done to me. But as long as he treats Melissa well, then he can avoid me beating the crap out of him. Melissa's one of my good friends and I would hate to see her hurt.

Last words: Congratulations you two!!
