Weirdest Conversation that I've ever Overheard

Approximately the same time last year, I over heard the weirdest conversation. It's so weird that I still remember it today. I was walking to my class and I was by the SUB when I passed by this girl who was saying this to her guy friend:

"Oh my god, someone grabbed you in the ass at the party? That's SO hott! I wish someone grabbed my ass at the party."

I don't know what party they're talking about, but I felt awkward... . Like... Who would say that?!

17 days vs. 17 years

So if you don't know already, Hanson and his family went to China (again). This time's not as long as last time's though. Last time, which was also around this time last year, they went to China and Hong Kong for 5 weeks. This time they're only going for three weeks. Part of one week have already gone by and there's 17 more days until he comes back.

And as soon as he comes back, my parents and my brother are going to Hong Kong to attend a wedding. I wish I could go too, but it's exam season and I know that I'd never be able to catch up if I miss classes.

17 to be is a very special number, because that's the age I met Hanson! I've waited 17 years for the perfect guy to come by, what more is another 17 days .

Job Offer from Business Objects

I'm done searching for jobs
and I'm done going to interviews for jobs
(for now).

I got a job offer today with Business Objects! I'm so happy!!! Co-op's been screwing around with my marks lately and I haven't had time to study. I did horrible on my CPSC 213 midterm but now that I know I got a job offer from a company I want to work at, I'm so relieved that I can't feel the horribleness of my midterm.

I had an interview with HSBC on Thursday. I thought that it went pretty well and that I definitely got the job. Then, on Friday, I had another job interview with Business Objects. A couple of days before my interview, Mickey told me that the interview with Business Objects was really hard... so I was like "I'm not gonna get the job anyway, why bother wasting my time and researching on the company....". So then I went to the interview absolutely unprepared. During the interview, I thought it was working out really well, much better than I had expected. However, at the end of the interview, I forgot to ask for their business card to send them a thank you ljavascript:void(0)etter for their time and such. I did so many things wrong, I did not anticipate that they would offer me the job!

On Friday night during one of my family dinners, I began to hesitate. Personally, I preferred Business Objects a lot more. Not only because they have a nice building, but also because I wouldn't have to wear business attire and spend more money on clothes. Clothes that I don't want to wear in the first place. I started to think what I should do if I got the job offer from HSBC first. Should I accept? Or should I decline? If I accept, then there's always that chance that Business Objects might want me afterwards and I won't be able to work at my dream company. If I decline, what if Business Objects doesn't offer me the job afterwards? So I was in this dilemma.

So, in the end, everything worked out fine and I would like to take this moment to say.... "YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Logic Puzzle #4: ERROR

Hey everyone,

I made an error on my Logic Puzzle #4. I feel so embarassed . I put a similar answer on my problem set for this question and I got it wrong. It's arguable though. I still honestly don't believe that it's logically possible for Peter Pan to fly though or Santa Clause to know who's good or bad.

I think the TA was trying to tell me that the class didn't really understand the meaning of "It's logically possible that __________." However, the professor still wanted to mark it. Kind of unfair, but whatever.

There are actually many answers that you can have for this problem, here's one of them:
E = I exist and I don't exist - FALSE
R = It's raining in Vancouver today (October 5th 2006) - FALSE
** I put the date there so people can't argue with me someday later when it does rain **

It's logically possible that E = FALSE
It's logically possible that R = TRUE

Did I not mention that you can also put in two false values and prove that this a non-truth functional statement by having it spit out two different values? Whoops!
