I'm *Still* in Japan

To answer Alex's question, yes I am planning on riding the bike at UBC to get to some of my classes that are far away from eachother when they are back to back. The bike's pretty cool, and light too; therefore, I won't have to bring my heavy Dunloop Mountain Bike to school everyday. And now for David's question. My mother mentioned something about going to Japan, and they said that they would like to go as well, so that's why they followed along. It's not like we asked them to come along, because that's just a really big mistake.

Today, Jeffrey said that he saw a hippy-looking Hanson. He had this long goatie and was wearing a toque. I thought it was so funny but then again, I was laughing at everything today. It's so hot here, I'm going crazy! I opened a fridge earlier looking for my pajamas.

Anyway, I went to as many anime bookstores as possible, but they all say that "Love Hina: Art Collection" is sold out. how disappointing. Oh well, I got myself better souvineers now (bike, Kimono, etc.).

We went to the store outside of Tokyo Disneyland today because Tokyo Disneyland is not worth spending money on. Funny sounding, I know, but it's true. There are so many people that go to Tokyo Disneyland everyday, we would be lucky to get on ONE ride for the day. Why do these people have so much free time during weedays?? Anyway, we were just there to get cute Disney stuff. We came back with a big Nemo pillow and some keychains and stuff. We spent over $100 CAD there.

Afterwards, we went to Ueno and bought some Japanese junk food (rice crackers, dried seafood jerky, etc). Actually, let's rephrase that. We *stocked up* on Japanese junk food. Yep that's what we do. Everytime we go to Japan we would go to that store and stock up on almost everything since they don't sell it in Canada.

Oh yeah, some stuff that I didn't mention. On the plane ride to Japan, Jeffrey and I watched "The Ring Two" . Now, I don't normally watch horror movies just because I can't sleep afterwards, but because there were no other good movies that were playing on the airplane, I decided to watch it with Jeffrey. The movie was alright, I was scared of going to the bathroom afterwards just because I was afraid that Samara might crawl out of the toilet and grab my ass - HAHAHA. It's funny because the toilet could represents a well in a way (the shape, and the fact that they both hold water). Another thing that I did on the plane was ask the stewardess if I could have the toys that they give to kids. She said that those are only for kids and that she's not allowed to give them to me.... so that's another disappointing moment.

I'm in Japan!!

It's like a sauna here. It's not the sun that's making this place hot here I don't think, because I'm always outside and I haven't gotten any sun burn. It's just stuffy here. The heat plus all the walking isn't pretty. Every night, it feels like my ankles broke off.

Well anyway, I got what I wanted to get from the last few times I went to Japan. I got myself a Kimono! Not just that, I also bought myself a bike. That's right, a bicycle. It's one of those that are foldable. Quite cool I must say. However, it's difficult too carry. We bought the bicyce from Osaka and we had to carry it on the trains and subways back to Tokyo. You can imagine how difficult that would be considering we have to get on and off when transferring.

I was hoping to get the "Love Hina: Art Collection" book in Japan because it'd cost like $50 in Canada. Sadly, the book was published in 2001 and all the book stores that I've been to says that it's sold out. Anyway, I'm not surprised, just a little disappointed.

We didn't go to Japan alone this time, which was pretty new for us. We went with my grand-aunt and grand-uncle. No offense or anything, but they really piss me off sometimes. They keep complaining that everything is expensive. It's Japan, what do you expect?? Not only that, it seemed as if we had to do everything that they wanted to do (ex. they insist of looking for the place to eat the famous steak at Kobe, which we didn't end up doing because we couldn't find the place). On the other hand, they sort of refuse to do anything that we want to do (ex. Shop for cutesy stuff). Speaking of the steak place, if it wasn't for daddy spazzing out, we wouldn't know HOW much longer we'd had to look. That's the kind of people they are - selfish. They're pretty useless and just another baggage that we have to worry about. They see that the four of us (my mom, dad, brother and me) carrying a lot of bags and just loose belongings, and they would just walk off with their own luggage (that's right, singular) and then walk off holding hands. No wonder my mom doesn't like travelling with other people.

I Got A 5 On My LPI!!

So I finally got my mark for my LPI, and as the title says, "I GOT A 5". For those of you who do not know what I'm talking about, the LPI is short for the Language Proficiency Index. This is an exam that UBC makes their student take. Before taking first-year english at UBC, I must get at least a 5 on the essay portion of the exam. Anyway, I PASSED!

I just came back from the AMS/UBC First Step orientation today at UBC. It was pretty cool, but too much walking. I actually met another guy in our orientation group that was also going into computer science. If I remember correctly, he said that he was from Bulgaria, but he has studied in Germany.... However, the tour that the girl gave us was more for "science" science students. She never got around to showing us the computer science part of the campus. Also, we got a free clipboard! It's so pretty.

For those of you who haven't gone to the AMS/UBC First Step orientation, GO NOW! You know, before all the pretty clipboards run out. Hahaha!

Mommy and Daddy's Gone to Japan

So yeah, the title says it all. Mommy and Daddy are going to be in Japan in maybe around 10 hours or so. I can't remember how long you have to fly for. Anyway, in exactly a week, Jeffrey and I will meet them in Japan. I'm kinda scared about going to the airport and checking in ourselevs since we've never done that before. However, we're not alone. Our grand-uncle and grand-aunt is also coming with us. We made a deal with them. As long as they will help us through the check-in process, we will help them find my mom and dad when we get there.

So yeah, I can't even remember how many times I've been to Japan. My mom packs kinda funny. She puts this luggage inside another luggage. She says it's so she can stock up on the cute stuff. Well, she has her points.

The *SO* Not Fun Wedding...

I went to my aunt's wedding on Saturday. It was *SO* not fun. Well I guess I shouldn't say that because it's mean, but it's somewhat true. However, the good thing was that the wedding favour didn't disappoint me. I'm always looking forward to things that I can keep forever as a momento. The wedding favour was a mini picture frame with a chinese wedding couple on each side, it was so cute. I'd put me and Hanson's picture in it, but we're not married. HAHA.

It was nice to see everyone that I know again. So many of my (grand) aunts and uncles and my cousins but the sad thing was that I didn't get to sit with any of them. The seating arrangements were horrible. We sat with strangers. So many of my other family members sat with people they didn't know as well, they could have just seated us with them. Not only that, when they were serving food to all the different plates, they didn't even serve it evenly. The strangers sat closer to the waitress so they got more food.

I guess other than they made us sit with strangers and didn't serve food evenly, there wasn't anything else that I had a problem with. The wedding pictures that they put out were nice. I wish I could have the same one day.

Another Day at UBC

So, here we go, I went to UBC with my mom again. Woke up at 6:00 in the morning. Poor Lynn, she had to wake up at 5:00 (shower, etc). Anyway, our morning at UBC was quite boring... I can't really remember what we did. We sat around and read some newspapers before we went back to the SUB (Student Union Building) to ask about our course schedules. Lynn wasn't sure if she had the required classes. I can just picture how stressed out she's gonna be once school starts again.

Anyway, I left my cell phone at home today. I planned this trip to UBC and asked David to come along since we all have to get our UBC Student ID anyway. David was suppose to arrive at like 12:40 or something like that, but he was late. I started to get worried that he might have been lost or kidnapped. We had a good laugh at that later, but I was honestly freaked out at the moment.

After getting our UBC Cards, we decided to visit the Chan Centre. It's this place where preformances are held. Lynn read somewhere that they had the nicest bathrooms on campus, so we went to check them out. The girl's bathroom was REALLY nice; it reminded us of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I actually managed to find a picture of it in on their site (www.chancentre.com). The boy's bathroom was nothing special. If you're wondering, yes, Lynn and I went to check out the boy's bathroom after knowing that there was no one inside it! (What..? Alex goes into the girl's bathroom all the time.)

So we went back to the bookstore because I forgot my pop there after taking our pictures for the ID. Afterwards, we just sat down in front of the bookstore. My eye was getting itchy from my first day of wearing my contacts, so I kept on rubbing it with my bottle. Anyway, soon the contacts began to scrunch up in my eye. It was gross. Lynn had to hold my hand to get to the Hebb Building (because we knew there were washrooms there) and I hit a wall because I didn't know where the door was when we got inside. Good times, good times. Anyway, that was already near the end of our day. So yeah, I hope everyone had as much fun as we did.

LPI #2 = DONE!

Wow, it's so nice to know that I am finally done the LPI. Fortunately, it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be I just hope I get a 5 on the essay portion. Anyway, I picked this topic about what kind of things I would spend my personal budget on. I just gave a scenario of the things I would need to financially worry about after I move out. The most important things I would need to worry about is food, entertainment, and then clothes (sorry, no emoticon for this). Clothes was kind of an extra just because I wasn't able to think of anything else and they wanted three items. But it makes sense since it's nice to look presentable. You never know who you'll meet (as Hanson always says).

Anyway, after that was done, I wrote the summaries (also another part of the LPI). Surprisingly, one of the summaries was about the love triangle between Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. That was was pretty easy just because I've been following up on that story. It's just so unforunate that a golden couple like Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt had to split up. I despise Angelina Jolie for that. Oh well, people tell me not to be so , meaning nosy.

So after the LPI, my next goal is to get my Learner's. That's right. I'm eighteen and I have never been in the driver's seat. Well, maybe once. Wait, no. Never. I thought about it, and I guess it would be nice to learn how to drive. Besides, I've calculated that if I get my license now, I wouldn't be able to get my complete license until I'm 21 (assuming that I pass everything smoothly). One year for my "L"; two years for my "N". So might as well start soon.
