I had a fun and exciting night on Friday this week. However, there were some sad moments. Hanson and I stayed in the office until approximately 8:00 (and by office, I mean at UBC, and by UBC, I mean my school). Anyhow, he seemed really busy with work and such. I just sat in his office looking through the pictures he took from China.
We left his office by 8:00 and went to eat 'nammer noodles. Afterwards, we went to the airport to see Harold (Hanson's cousin) and his family because they were all moving to Toronto. It was a very sad sight indeed. From what Hanson mentioned, Harold is in grade 7 going into grade 8 next year. To me, it seemed like a better idea to enter a new school during elementary than in high school because of the pressure to act "cool". It's cold in Toronto right now, so I hope they're doing well.
After that, Hanson and I didn't really have any activities planned, so we decided to go to the River Rock Casino. Now as everyone (except me) would probably know... I'm not legal age to be inside a casino yet in Canada. I don't have a driver's license, so therefore, no ID. But I managed to to get in. The real deal is *not to make eye contact with the guard*. The funny part was that when we got in, Hanson told me to zip up. I looked down, and didn't even realize that I was wearing my DSS Grad sweatshirt that said "Grad 05" on it! Hanson kept on asking where that cashiers were, and that got my kind of scared because I actually thought he wanted to gamble. I kept on pulling him back and told him not to go. Eventually I just gave up because it was very tiring. It ended up that he didn't want to gamble, he just wanted to know where to get free decks of cards...
So yep, I never got caught, and even got a free deck of cards as a momento/souvineer of my law breaking moment.

As a reply to Melissa and Alex: Technically it IS breaking the law. Why else would they have guards outside checking for ID? Alex was talking about Las Vegas, and it's somewhat different down there because you're kind of forced to pass through casinos in order to go to buffets/shops. And from what I remember, there are no shops at the River Rock Casino.... There was one time, they wouldn't even let me borrow the casino resort's bathroom because I didn't have ID. But even if I were to have ID, they would not have let me in because I was underage.
you little law breaker...hahaha...grad sweater eh...that's hilarious~~ luv ya lots and hope to see you sometime during winter break~~
nope you haven't broken the law... anyone is allowed into a casino.... if you're under 19, you're not allowed to gamble.... you're only allowed in the buffets and arcades and shops except the actual gambling region unless you are with an adult.... since you were with Hanson and you weren't gambling, you weren't breaking th law... I've been to the casinos in LV... (and actually gambled XD on the 1arm bandits xD.... my family was blocking anyone from seeing me play lol)
Technically you never broke the law persay lol I know they say you have to be 19 to enter the casino buti have been to casinos before lol and the law breaking thing would come if you actually played something in there lol But i think it is funny none the less lol and the fact that you were wearing your grad sweater just makes it that much more funny XD juli you are like my hero lol
