MacBook Beginner Days

It's the last day of the month, and this is only my first post for the month! I've been feeling really lazy lately and don't feel like posting - actually, it's more like I didn't feel like doing anything.

I got my MacBook over the weekend and I have spent lots of time trying to figure out how to use it. I didn't even read my psychology textbook. I only have my weekends free so that I can read my psychology textbook and I didn't even do that! I'm going to fall so far behind that I'll be cramming for the final exam too.

My experience with my MacBook so far hasn't been great. MSN Messenger has always been one of the essential tools for me and please don't mind my language.... but MSN Messenger on the Mac OSX SUCKS! I know this is not Apple's problem, infact, I'm kinda mad at Microsoft for this. The MacBook comes with a web camera built in named "iSight" and I can't even use it when I use it with MSN Messenger. They've already come out with their 7th version. Like c'mon man... do you realize you're making no progress at all?? I found some OpenSource projects that support MSN messaging and webcam on Mac such as aMSN and Mercury. Can you believe it? And these people who make these OpenSource applications don't even get paid!

Well anyway, I've been scrambling to find the best solution to this lack of audio/video problem because even aMSN and Mercury kinda lags. I sort of found the solution to this lack of audio/video problem. I found this website called www.MeBeam.com. It's absolutely fantastic! One thing about it is that it's actually video streaming, so while you're using MeBeam to conference with your friends, anyone can actually access it as long as they get the correct URL. So when you create your conference room, try to come up with a unique name. It's easy to figure out how many people are watching you though. Typically, if there is one person watching you, you have two boxes that appear. One for your own webcam, and the other one for your friend's. The box will show up even if you're friend doesn't have a webcam. If a third box shows up, that means you have two friends watching you, etc. The video is very smooth (no lagging) and doesn't even slow down your computer. I definitely recommend it!
