This year for annual "camping" we went to the Manning Park Resort. I don't think I told everyone this, but Hanson came with us this year too!! I missed last year's trip because I didn't have fun the year before (when we went to Princeton). The reason I went this year was all because I was able to convince Hanson to come with us. However, there were still pros and cons about this year's trip.
When we got to the Manning Park Resort, we thought that our cabins were just as nice as the log houses they had as the resort's welcome center and restaurant. However, our cabin ended up to be on the other side of the 6 lane highway and all the activities such as basketball, volleyball, swimming and tennis were on the side where the welcome center is.
On the first day there, we didn't really do much because we weren't able to find out where our cabin was until Uncle Paul got there. He had all the reservation stuff. So when we got there, we took up all our baggage and unpacked them first. Then we divided into different rooms. The washrooms were really weird. There were 3 floors in total in the cabin, and then 1 washroom per floor. The washrooms were like public washrooms, once you're through the doors, there were stalls.
On the second day, we checked out what there is to do. We went up onto the mountain and looked at scenery. And then we went down to the lake to see what there is to do there and find out the price to rent canoes. However, we didn't go play on canoes until the third day. A group of people went in together for hot pot at night, and they said that because they bought so much stuff, they asked my family including Hanson to join in!
On the third day, I was kind of upset because it seemed like the weekend passed by so fast. We didn't go out onto the lake until later in the afternoon because it was just too hot outside. At first Hanson and I didn't go canoeing because there weren't enough people who were interested. But then afterwards, some people decided to give up their canoe to give everyone a chance to play. At night, after a BBQ dinner, Hanson and I got my dad to drive us over to the other side of the highway to play tennis. However, we were whacking more mosquitoes than tennis balls. At first, we were planning on playing for 1.5 hours, but then we got tired after half an hour, so Hanson and I *ran* back to our cabin across the 6 lane highway.
And today, my parents woke up early to start packing. Then I woke up, brushed my teeth, and then went into Hanson bedroom to wake him up like every other morning we were there. I'm gonna miss these moments and I wish that every morning could be like this.
I posted some pictures in my photo album. Enjoy!
